Gods Plan Through Pain

Updated: Jul 31, 2018

Early on the morning of April 21, 2018, our beloved mother Barbara Cornelius lost her battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” There is no doubt in our hearts that at that moment, approximately 10:30 am that Saturday morning, she transitioned from life as we know it here on earth to a life that we as believers look forward to and hope for. We are comforted by knowing that her life was a testimony of living by the book and her love for Christ was evident in the way she lived and the way she loved.

Yet even in knowing that she is in a better place and that her physical suffering had now ended, it cannot and will not remove the feeling of loss and missing her presence that I, my dad and my four brothers and one sister deal with daily. It is hard to adjust to her not physically being here with us. We miss the telephone conversations, the visits, the prayers, and just knowing that she was always there for each of us when we needed her. Undoubtedly, her passing has left a void that can never be filled.

Yet, even in this most difficult time, God has shown Himself an ever faithful and loving God who cares about us and the way we feel. He has granted us comfort and favor and has opened new doors of ministry by which we can serve Him. Our personal loss has reminded us of the urgency of this season in which we are living, and we are greatly motivated to do the work of our Lord Jesus Christ while there is yet time. There are so many who need to hear the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, and we have been assigned the great commission to go and preach the Gospel to every nation. Cornelius Brothers Media is just a part of what God is doing and will be doing through our ministry in the months to come.

We miss mom every single day. We cry. We mourn. But yet we rejoice in what God is doing through us as we surrender ourselves to His will and to His way. We pray that God will open up new doors of opportunity for you as well. Let Him use you for His glory. In the end that will be all that really matters. Remember, only what you do for Christ will last.
